TERMS AND CONDITIONS 2006 / 2007

1.  Booking

Your booking must be made accompanied by a deposit of 20% for the total cost of half-board accommodation. Provisional bookings can be accepted by phone, fax or e-mail and will be held for 2 working days pending the receipt of the appropriate deposit.

The contract will take effect once we receive your booking confirmation and we have issued you with a confirmation invoice. Your remaining balance is due 10 weeks prior to the departure date. Full payment will be required for bookings made within 10 weeks of departure. 

If Chamonixvallee.com does not receive the balance 10 weeks prior to departure an email reminder will be sent (provided an email contact has been provided). If no payment has been received with 3 working days of the reminder being sent, or if no email has been provided, 3 working days after the due date, we reserve the right to cancel the booking without further reference to the customer and the customer shall forfeit any deposit paid.

2. Flights & Ferries

Flights or ferries ('carriers') are not included within the booking and are the clients sole responsibility. Carriers (flights and ferries) shown on this website are for information purposes only and Chamonixvallee.com does not warrant their fitness for purpose in any form. No liability will exist between the client and Chamonixvallee.com for any failure by a carrier to deliver the services contracted with the client, including, but not exhaustive of late arrivals or departures.

3. Transfers & Transport

For winter bookings, unless otherwise agreed, Chamonixvallee.com will provide one return transfer to and from Geneva airport for the chalet booking (up to ten guests). Where the arrival or departure of the party is at differing times, Chamonixvallee.com reserve the right to await all flights arrival and / or transfer clients all together based on the earliest time of departure, or charge an additional cost for multiple journeys.

Where incoming clients and departing clients respective arrival and departure times are unable to facilitate transportation by Chamonixvallee.com conveniently, the incoming guests shall take priority. Chamonixvallee.com will in such cases provide exclusive 'third party' transport for departing clients.

Winter bookings are also provided with a chauffeur at the start and end of the day six days of the week. Transfers to lifts, crèche, or ski school will be undertaken at agreed times between 09:00hrs and 10:00 hrs in the morning, and 16:00hrs and 18:30hrs. One trip in the morning and evening being provided at a time of agreed consensus by clients (within timeframes specified). For evenings, a chauffeur service will operate after dinner up to 23:30hrs to Les Houches or Chamonix Town (one return trip per day - at a time of consensus by clients).

In addition to point 10, Chamonixvallee.com reserve the right to refuse to carry any client who's behaviour may be inappropriate as deemed by the staff of Chamonixvallee.com at any time or is deemed to be under the influence of alcohol and could put their transportation, other clients, staff, or the property of Chamonixvallee.com at risk. Any damage or cleaning that is a result of a client's inappropriate behaviour will be subject to the full cost being charged to the client for rectification. The minimum charge that shall apply in such an event shall be €100 (one hundred euros).

Children travelling in a vehicle must use the child restraint seats provided at all times. Clients must advise of any children requiring by law, or otherwise, a child restraint seat with your booking. Chamonixvallee.com reserve the right to transport children in the event of not being notified and a child restraint seat not being available.

Summer visitors, transfers are not included unless otherwise agreed in writing.

4. Insurance

Your booking does not include travel insurance. We strongly advise that all members of your party have the appropriate travel insurance in place prior to travelling.

5. Changing Your Booking

If you wish to make alterations to your booking after the contract is formed, we will seek to accommodate your request where it is reasonable to do so. Such changes are at the sole discretion of Chamonixvallee.com.

6. Cancellation Of A Holiday By The Customer

If you choose to cancel your holiday you must do so in writing. The date of cancellation shall be the date the cancellation is received by Chamonixvallee.com. The person submitting the booking form must authorise cancellation. Cancellation charges for the accommodation cost will be as follows:

Please note, that if your cancellation falls within your insurance policy terms, you may be able to reclaim these charges.

7. Changes Made By Chamonixvallee.com

Many holidays are booked well in advance of the arrival date, whilst we do everything possible to meet the requirements of our customers, specifications and descriptions detailed on the website, inevitably some changes do occur. We undertake to minimise such changes but reserve the right to make them as is necessary. In the event of a material change we will of course notify you and allow you to either; accept the change, purchase an alternative holiday from us, or cancel your holiday and receive a full refund.

8. Cancellation By Chamonixvallee.com

In the unlikely event we have to cancel your holiday, all monies paid will be returned in full. Circumstances beyond our control do not include events amounting to 'force majeure' (such circumstances include riot, war, industrial dispute, terrorist activity, natural or nuclear disaster, fire, technical problems with transport, closure or congestion of airports or ports and adverse weather conditions).

9. Price Guarantee

Whilst we reserve the right to change our prices, your confirmation invoice price is fully guaranteed and will not be subject to change.

10. Behaviour

The customer must undertake to behave in such a manner as not to disrupt the enjoyment of other guests staying in the chalet or the residents and guests in surrounding chalets, or using transportation provided by Chamonixvallee.com.

Guests being, or found to have been rude, offensive, aggressive, swearing or acting inappropriately to a guest, staff, or any person in the resort may at the discretion of Chamonixvallee.com have their holiday terminated immediately without compensation. In such a case Chamonixvallee.com will have no further obligation to them.

Any damages and breakages whether accidental or deliberate must be notified to Chamonixvallee.com immediately and will be charged to the customer. Damages not notified to Chamonixvallee.com will be subject to £100 administration fee on top of the replacement costs.

11. Winter Half Board

The winter half-board option includes free wine with dinner (may be restricted to a maximum of two bottles of wine per guest).

To ensure and maintain the enjoyment of all guests during your holiday, staff may refuse to serve guests alcohol where a guest is considered to be unfit for further consumption, or if the guests causes or has caused concern in respect of their behaviour under the influence. All guests are drawn to point 9 in respect of behaviour that applies.

12. No Smoking Policy

Chamonixvallee.com operates a very strict no smoking policy. Smoking is not permitted inside the chalet or in the vicinity of entrance doors or windows. Guests may smoke in the gardens and patio areas providing the smoke does not enter the chalet, and that residue cigarette ends, cigars, or tobacco are removed and disposed of safely in the appropriate refuse bins. The holiday of any customer or party in breach of this clause may be terminated immediately and without compensation and Chamonixvallee.com will have no further obligation to them.

On inspection of the property, Chamonix.vallee.com reserve the right to retain in part or whole the 'Security Deposit' (condition 11) for the property where there is evidence of a breach of this clause.

13. Pets

Pets are not allowed in or around the chalet unless prior agreement has been give by Chamonixvallee.com in writing. In the event of permission being given in writing, pets are not permitted on any furniture, including, but not exhaustive of beds, chairs, sofas. Owners will be liable for any damage that is incurred by their animals at full cost plus an administrative fee of €250 (two hundred and fifty euros).

Animals must not be allowed to foul the land or property of Chamonixvallee.com. In the event of an animal fouling any property of Chamonixvallee.com the owner will be charged a minimum fine of €50 (fifty euros) per event. Dogs must be kept on a lead at all times.

A failure to adhere to these rules may lead to owners and pets being asked to leave the property immediately and their holiday being terminated immediately without compensation. In such a case Chamonixvallee.com will have no further obligation to them.

14.  Arrival, Departure Times & Condition Of Chalet On Departure

The chalet and rooms will be available from 4.00pm on the day of arrival.

The chalet must be vacated by 10.00am on the day of departure to enable cleaning for incoming guests. The chalet should be left in a good condition. Where the chalet is left in a condition that requires additional cleaning, over and above what would be normally expected, Chamonixvallee.com reserve the right to charge costs, including administration, for the additional service requirement.

15. Complaints

Whilst we take all reasonable care to ensure that your holiday with us is an enjoyable one, from time to time complaints may arise If you have a complaint please inform the Chamonixvallee.com representative in the resort immediately who will try to resolve the problem . If you are unable to contact the representative in the resort or do not get a satisfactory conclusion, you should contact the help number immediately on 00 33 450 91 99 34.

16. Liability

Chamonixvallee.com accepts no responsibility for the acts or omissions of its customers, whether negligent or otherwise, and shall not be held liable for any claims made against our customers either by other customers of Chamonixvalleee.com or third parties.

Note: The customer agrees to co-operate fully with Chamonixvallee.com or our insurers in respect of any legal proceedings that Chamonixvallee.com or our insurers may take against the relevant suppliers and / or third parties. In the event of personal injury unconnected with arrangements made by Chamonixvallee.com, assistance will be given where appropriate subject to reasonable discretion.

17. Visas

It is your responsibility to be in possession of a valid passport and any visa as necessary before travelling. Non EU Passport holders should note that the local airport, Geneva , is not an EU member.

18. Website

The information contained on our website is correct to the best of our knowledge, but should not be relied on and may be subject to alteration.

19. Law & Jurisdiction

These conditions and any contract to which they apply are governed in all respects by French Law and are subject to the jurisdiction of the courts in France.
