As we start to think of spring and warm summer nights, lets not forget that there is still plenty of snow and skiing to be had in the Chamonix Valley - with snow reports showing Chamonix as the top resort for snow with 410cm on the Grands Montets - and more snow still forecast this weekend down to the valley floor (and below to 1,000m)!!
Whilst Chalet Prarion's popularity means that there is no availability here at the Chalet for the rest of this season, there is still availability across other chalets in the valley. So don't miss out on the fantastic spring skiing - where you can enjoy great skiing in the morning in the high mountains, then sit back mid afternoon to enjoy a glass of wine whilst marvelling at Chamonix's stunning scenery.
CHALET HOLIDAY REVIEWS - CHECK FOR QUALITY (08/03/2007)
The development of independent chalet holidays at the expense of traditional package operators has for many improved the quality and variety of offerings for today's skiers and boarders.
But booking a chalet holiday can of course still be a concern to many and therefore here are a few tips to help you book with greater confidence and minimise the risk of disappointment:
1. Check out the reviews - in particular the guest book or review page depending on what it is called on the operators web site - are there many entrants and do they look authentic (Chalet Prarion's are updated every week and can be backed up by the guestbook in the chalet or emails - you'll also see that they are consistent in there praise week in week out)
2. If it states close to the piste - what does it actually mean - we know far too many claim this but are actually at least a 5 to 10 minute walk in the morning in your ski boots (Chalet Prarion has the photos to prove its on the piste - how many of the others do(?))
3. Is the chalet generally fully booked - if not why not - if it has the history and the style - it isn't hard to sell (we pride ourselves in the ski season on over 90% occupancy)
4. Do they offer discounts - it may seem strange to question this one if it is offered - but why are they offering such a deal - the best places don't have to - they are far too good and popular to need to - many who discount are discounting for a reason so beware
5. What is your first contact like - if the first contact is a good one and feels right your generally off to a good start - if it isn't - is it likely to get better when you arrive
6. What does the website look like - is it professional and easy to navigate, does it give clear information on what you can expect - or does it leave far too many questions - the best offerings want you to know and are very proud of what they offer, their websites also generally reflect their service; if the website looks cluttered or poorly designed - is the chalet likely to be that different when you arrive
So check carefully, book early to avoid disappointment, and enjoy the confidence of a great chalet by a liitle research.
Check out http://www.chamonixvallee.com/guestbook.asp for an example of a guestbook that clearly demonstrates high satisfaction – consistent reviews week in week out - there is no better recommendation.

What's behind the success, it's quite simple, fantastic gourmet food, selected fine wines, great accommodation, attentive staff (but not intrusive), stunning scenery, and a true ski in ski out location - in fact the only complaint being so far the season was from Jerome last week - that he couldn't ski the last 3 yards from the garden to the ski room door (we'll see what we can do for you next season Jerome)!!
FEBRUARY NEARLY SOLD OUT WITH EASTER WEEKS EXPECTED TO SELL VERY FAST (22/10/2006)
With February quickly filling and demand rising rapidly for March availability, Chalet Prarion availability is certainly disapearing fast as new and returning guests seek to secure one of Chamonix luxury ski chalets, Chalet Prarion.
With Easter falling at the perfect time of year where spring snow is complimented by spring sunshine, Easter is also expected to sell fast. This year these prime weeks start on the Saturday 31st March and 7th April, so book early to avoid disapointment.
With Chamonix high altitude skiing and excellent snow record, Easter is a great time to visit and enjoy its fantastic spring conditions - sunshine and an array of fine pistes. PISTE SIGN GO UP OUTSIDE CHALET PRARION (21/10/2006)
If you didn't know already, awakening this morning to the blue piste no. 5 sign being hammered into the ground outside the chalet was a sure sign that the snow and winter season will soon be here in the valley.
The piste patrols have certainly been busy, with netting going back up and protection pads put in place ready for a season that now starts in less than two months!!
AVAILABILITY SELLING FAST (20/10/2006)
Bookings continue to remain strong here at Chalet Prarion, highlighted by the fact that only one week remains in February. Managing Director Frances Leyshon puts down this success to 'Our location, services, and warm welcome. Providing a luxury service right on the piste really is a USP for Chalet Prarion in Chamonix. Where else can you receive such an exclusive service in the valley, whilst being able to ski from the door'.

LUXURY HYDRO THERAPY HOT TUB - NEW FOR 2006/7 WINTER SEASON(13/08/2006)
With the summer season still at its height it seems surprising to think that the ski season is now less than just four months away. Here at Chalet Prarion there is therefore no time for standing still and ahead of schedule we are delighted to announce that the new hot tub and decking has now been installed ready for next seasons winter visitors.

Seating up to 8 people, it really does offer any visitor that luxury moment to relax whilst soothing tired muscles, and enjoying a glass or two of champagne. All whilst taking in the great views of the Mont Blanc Massif right in front of the chalet.
NOT BE FOR FRANCE IN 2006 WORLD CUP (10/07/2006)
The party just wasn't to be here in Chamonix with France losing to Italy on penalties.
Unlike so many in the UK, they really do see it as "just a game". Out this morning, with smiles on their faces and not a care in the world. Afterall "It's just another day and such is life". And with temperatures in the thirties, that means a great day; walking, cycling, climbing, paragliding, and much more!
GOOD LUCK FRANCE (09/07/2006)
Whilst in England many of the flags may now have been taken down after the quarter-final exit, here in France the temperatue is certainly rising in anticipation of tonight's World Cup Final. With just the Mont Blanc seperating Chamonix and Italy, rivalry is good natured but nevertheless intense.
Normally not a country to go too wild about football, the local shops have made a brisk trade of French replica shirts and full marks for enterprise from one chalet owner who very imaginatively decked his balcony out with one blue t-shirt, one white, and then the red to finish the tricolor off.
Anyway, good luck France, we await the party tonight!
From inmmediate effect, the new contact number for www.chamonixvallee.com is: 00 33 4 50 91 99 34. As a result of the company moving to France earlier this year, all future transactions, whilst quoted in pounds sterling, will be transferred into euros at the prevailing exchange rate.
For UK credit card and debit card holders this will not effect the simplicity of paying as your cards should except euros as welll as sterling payments.
EASTER 2007 (28/06/2006)
With Christmas, New Year, and half-term weeks already booked (to name just a few), the race to book Chalet Prarion and experience one of Chamonix's premiere luxury chalets is clearly on. Easter, a 'school holiday' favourite is however still available so we suggest you book early to avoid disapointment.
This year these prime weeks start on the Saturday 31st March and 7th April.
BOOKING FAST (26/06/2006)
Yet again the demand for Chalet Prarion, one of the best luxury chalets in Chamonix, shows no sign of slowing. With six weeks already secured for the start of the 2006/7 season, Chalet Prarion looks set once again to be a great success and 'the sort after venue' in the Chamonix Valley.
Managing Director Frances Leyshon believes its success is based on "putting the client first, employing great staff, superb facilities, and have the perfect location, on piste". She went on to add "we really are lucky to have available such a spacious chalet right on the piste. And at the end of the day where else can you sit back and relax in the hot tub and enjoy a glass of champagne, with such views of the Mont Blanc massif".
THE END OF A GREAT WINTER 2006 SEASON (07/05/2006)
Well what a season, great skiing, great powder, mountains of snow, and fantastic guests. Thank you to all our visitors who helped make this such a special and successful season - we will raise a glass of champagne to 'toast you all' - you really were wonderful and we look forward to seeing many of you again next year.
EASTER - 5M OF SNOW ON THE GRANDS MONTETS (15/04/2006)
Chamonix is a great venue anytime of the year, but with 5m of snow on the Grands MontetS, and similar levels across many of the valley's slopes, the Chalets Easter visitors have had a wonderful time. "Bright sunshine, perfect conditions, just can't wait for the next season" was just one of the comments at the end of the week.
